Former Guyana youth skipper Eugene La Fleur and former Guyana youth cricketer Raj Nannan shared seven wickets between them to help Vikings Cricket Club beat 4C Mississauga Dolphins by 108 runs last Saturday at the Maple Leaf ground.
Action in the 2018 Toronto and District Cricket Association’s Elite Super 50-Over competition continued in King City with
the left-arm spinner Nannan finishing with four wickets for five runs from 5.1 overs, as Dolphins were skittled out for a paltry 73 in 21.1 overs, replying to Vikings’ respectable 181 all out off 44.3 overs. La Fleur claimed three wickets for 38 runs from ten overs to support Nannan.
When Vikings batted, Trinidadian Kamil Khan hit 56, while Rodney Lawrence scored a supportive 33 not out, and 19 came from Canadian opening batsman Rodrigo Thomas.
The Vikings, led by former Guyana and West Indies player Royston Crandon, have now won 10 of their 13 matches. They are the defending champions and title sharers with the Centurions, who have eight victories from 13 matches as well.
Vikings will be back in action at the same facility on Saturday, taking on Toronto Cricket Club.
