Narco trafficking accused remanded

Acarpenter of Number Two Village, West Coast Berbice, who reportedly had 450 grams of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking was remanded to prison.

Quincy Anthony, 29, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts to answer to the charge which alleged that on February 22 at Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara, he had in his possession a quantity of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

Bail was denied and the defendant will return to court on March 9.
