– COVID-19 Task Force approval pending
The Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF) has disclosed three dates in late May for the hosting of the National Cycling Championship. However, hosting of the three-legged race is dependent on approval from the National COVID-19 Task Force.
According to the release on the GCF Facebook pafe, the proposed dates are May 22, 23 and 30, with the format being Time Trial, Senior Road Race and Junior/Female/Veteran Road Race.

Race: Time Trials (All categories)
Course: Linden/Soesdyke Highway
Distance: 10 miles
Description: Just after the first toll station, the race will start on the left-hand side facing north, and proceed to the junction for the finish

Date: May 23, 2021
Race: Senior Road Race
Course: Georgetown to Linden/Soesdyke Highway to Georgetown
Distance: 100 miles
Description: The race will start at Banks DIH Main Office (Rotunda), proceed to the Linden/Soesdyke Highway (50 miles up), and return to Banks DIH Main Office for the finish

Date: May 30, 2021
Race: Junior/Female/Veteran Road Race
Course: Mahaica Loop
Distance: To be determined (Will be confirmed and announced soon)
Description: The race will start at KK Gas Station, proceed west to Unity Junction, and turn east along the Mahaica Old Road. Riders will then exit by the Mahaica Bridge, and turn west to proceed along the Mahaica New Road to KK Gas Station to complete one lap. This race will be in the form of a criterium, and the various categories will have different laps to complete accordingly.

The Guyana Cycling Federation said registration for each event will close 30 minutes before the start time, and later entrants will not be permitted to race. All rules will be enforced, especially gear restrictions for Juniors, the Federation added.
