National cyclist before the court yet again for assaulting wife
National cyclist Alanzo Greaves, who seems to be in the habit of assaulting his wife, found himself before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts yet again for the same offence.
He appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore and had the assault charge
dismissed when his spouse, Janelle Cox-Greaves refused to go ahead with the matter.
The charge against him stated that on January 28, 2018 at Garnett Street, Kitty in addition to assaulting Cox-Greaves, he caused $205,200 worth of damage to her vehicle.
According to the facts of the matter, Greaves and Cox-Greaves were involved in an argument when he became enraged and punched her to her face. He then proceeded to use an object to damage he vehicle.
Cox-Greaves called the Police to the scene and as such, Greaves was charged with the offense. In 2017, he was also charged several times for the said offence of assaulting Cox-Greaves. The International Cyclist Union (ICU) banned the sportsman from participating in cycling events after he tested positive for drugs.
