National U-23 Volleyball team receives timely donation

The Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) on Friday afternoon donated a whopping 0,000 to the Guyana Volleyball Federation at Olympic House in Kingston, Georgetown.

The donation is intended to assist with the expenses of the male Under-23 National team in their quest for supremacy in the South American Male Uner-23 Championship to be held from June 21 to 25, 2016 in Columbia.

President of the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF), John Flores noted that it was a good first step as the overall trip will cost anything in the range of $3M.

The national team was selected through trials in the two playing counties, Demerara and Berbice where 18 players. Over the next few days the final squad will be further broken down to 14 to travel to Columbia on June 20.

The squad is currently in training under the guidance of national coach Levi Nedd with assistance from deputy coach Ian Wills.

The touring party comprises 14 players, two coaches, the manager and a referee is as follows; Devendra Latchman, Joshua Jagmohan, Samuel Fraser, Xavier Lambert, Ryon Mangrau, Chavin Arnachalam, Yoganand Dhoray, Kellon Leitch, Leon Stewart, Andy Rohoman, Ravi Rampartab, Paul Welcome, Simon Seecharan, Ray Moore, Levi Nedd (Coach), Ian Wills (Assistant coach), Andrea Flores (Manager) and Odile Broomes (Referee).
