Captain Kefa Naughton made a splendid 77 from 48 balls which eased Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) to a handy five-wicket win over host Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Noble House Seafood two-day competition on Sunday.

GNIC took first strike made 185 all out with West Indies Under 19 player Joshua Persaud stroking 81 of which he received support from Quincy-Ovid Richardson who made 36 and Marin Munroe 15.
Off spinner Nickosie Barker lead the way with 5 for 46 while medium pace Carlos LaRose took 3 for 63.
In response MSC made 200 on the back of half centuries from Carlos LaRose (65) and Carlye Collins (60).
Facing a deficit of 15, GNIC reached 215 all out in their second innings with LaRose snaring 5 for 44 and Collins (2-48).
Set 201 for victory, Naughton blazed the trail with some aggressive batting and had some handy support from Barker (39) and Shaquille Moseley (27).
The win not only ensured Naughton played his fifth match as a captain and yet to lose but also place MSC at the top of their group.
