National head coach Levi Nedd has lauded Guyana’s Under-23 volleyball team for their performance during the recent series in Suriname.
The team that is preparing for the South American Championships in Colombia were, according to Nedd, outstanding in most areas, as they came out winners against a Condors U23 team, 25-15, 25-18 and 26-24. They then defeated a Yeleco U23 team, 23-25, 25-17, 30-28 and 25-17.
Following the successful series, Nedd said he hoped the experience would help build team chemistry, which he believes will be key when they take stronger teams from South America.
The team members, he said, are already very familiar with each other and this series should further cement the bonds between them.
As preparations for the championships, set for June 18 to 25, continue, the team will be called into camps in Berbice and Demerara.
The 14-man squad is comprised of Devendra Latchman, Joshua Jagmohan, Samuel Fraser, Xavier Lambert, Ryon Mangrau, Madan Budhram, Yoganand Dhoray, Kellon Leitch, Leon Stewart, Andy Rahaman, Ravi Rampartab, Samuel Persaud, Simon Orlando Seecharan and Ray Anthony Moore.
