Gittens made a visit to check on progress of the school’s construction on Tuesday. According to Gittens, the team employed to work on the school are doing an “excellent job” so far, despite some challenges and setbacks in securing materials such as wood in a timely manner owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Vice Chairman said, nevertheless, work was on par and was nearing completion. He also highlighted that there were some changes to the original design of the school, owing to some challenges.
Gittens also visited a number of other unfinished projects in Linden, such as the ongoing construction of the new Regional Democratic Council (RDC) building, which he said was just about 15 per cent complete. He noted that work on the foundation was still ongoing. Another site visited was the Linden synthetic track, which according to Gittens, is 60 per cent complete. This project, he noted, might wrap up early next year once all goes well.
