Executive Director of the EPA, Dr Vincent Adams, has announced that the agency would this month be opening a sub-office in the mining town of Linden, in Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice).
He made this announcement during the ‘Government comes to you’ outreach that was held last Tuesday in the region.
Adams said the office is the first step in reaching out to the agency’s clientele while ensuring there is greater efficiency in the services provided.
“It’s the intent of the Government to ensure that the right things are in place…to get all the opportunities available in Georgetown to citizens across the board,” he explained.
It is a known fact that citizens who want to access the EPA’s services would have to travel to its Sophia, Greater Georgetown office. Adams has described the opening of the new Linden office as “a major step forward in reaching customers”.
Opening of the new EPA office comes on the heels of the opening of the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission’s (GL&SC’s) New Amsterdam sub-office which was commissioned in March, and the soon-to-be-opened passport offices in several regions, the (DPI) has reported.
