For over 60 years, women from across the world have trained and prepared for their unique journeys to compete for the title of Miss Universe. Their journey starts locally, at a national preliminary such as Guyana, where one lucky contestant will have the opportunity to represent her country at the annual Miss Universe Pageant.

The new Miss Universe Guyana is one that is determined to affect change and provide the women who are a part of their system the skill sets they need to be successful leaders of tomorrow.

Now under new ownership and guidance by National Director Jyoti Hardat and Creative Director, Derek Moore, its global reach is maximised to extend amazing opportunities to the talented young women of our beautiful country, Guyana.

Research has shown that the number one obstacle women are faced with when reaching their potential in any endeavour is the lack of self-confidence. The committee members are proud to be a part of an organisation, such as Miss Universe, which challenges women to get out of their comfort zones, push their envelopes and be fearless.

The Miss Universe organisation’s mission is to empower every woman to have the confidence to stand in any forum, anywhere and declare that she is confident, secure, comfortable, powerful and beautiful.

The Miss Universe Guyana pageant promises to stand by these words and vows to empower Guyanese women to be contributing members of society, leaders and role models, as they tackle issues to make way for our future generations to flourish.

The Miss Universe organisation is now under new ownership and management, which has since boosted this international pageant’s global presence. With new management, comes new opportunities for tourism and cultural exchange between the sister countries, who participate in this competition.

In its new approach to enhancing tourism to Guyana, the committee has collaborated with the Tourism Ministry to help train our finalists and to further their knowledge about their beautiful home, the untouched paradise, Guyana.

The organisation is currently partnering with a few charities in Guyana and the Guyanese Diaspora worldwide and will be adding more who choose to work with them, in the future.

Its intention is to raise awareness to the many issues being faced by Guyanese; both at home and around the world. Some of the charities include Give Foundation Guyana and The Caribbean Voice.
