New Govt should be guided by its integrity & honesty

Dear Editor,
The Cooperative Republicans of Guyana (CRG) would like to congratulate the new Government on its success at the polls and successful patience with the courts. We look forward to working with them in a continuous peaceful atmosphere over the years ahead as the opportunities to do so arise.
May the motto of our great nation “One People, One Nation, One Destiny” lead them and the new Parliament in their daily actions. Guiding their decision-making for the benefit of all Guyanese independent of race, gender, religion or political party affiliation.
May they also be guided by their integrity and honesty so that they may avoid the pitfalls of corruption, greed and violence.
Thus, allowing them to focus first and foremost on the best interest of Guyana and all of its people. This lengthy process has provided an opportunity for all of us to relearn the importance of humility and law and order. Going forward we should all as a nation remember to respect the justice system and the rule of law.
Thus, ensuring we avoid taking matters into our own hands outside of the justice system. This is essential to the peaceful longevity of any successful Government. Once again, congratulations!
