New Silver City Secondary face unbeaten Mackenzie in semi-finals

It is down to the final four in the 10th edition of the Edward “Screw” Richmond Linden Under-18 Secondary Schools football tournament with the semi-finals being played this afternoon at the Wisburg Ground. The first clash will see Mackenzie High School, with an unblemished record, match skills with New Silver City Secondary at 14:45h while the second match pits the reigning champions Christianburg Wismar Secondary against home side Wisburg at 16:15h.
In preliminary round-robin group play, Mackenzie High upset last year’s winners Christianburg Wismar Secondary 2-1 thanks to their top scorer Kemuel Batson, and also registered a 2-1 victory against Linden Technical Institute while getting past Harmony Secondary 3-1.

They face a New Silver City Secondary side which demolished the Private Schools Combined 10-0, humbled Linden Technical Institute 6-1 and lost their match against the Christianburg Wismar Secondary 2-1. Their leading scorers are Emmanuel Atkins, who heads the list with six goals, and Ojai Whittington, who has four.
Defending champions Christianburg were winners over Harmony Secondary 3-1, lost to Mackenzie High 2-1, but made it through by a walkover victory over Linden Technical Institute. Their best scorer has been Mickel Adams, who has two goals.
Their opponents, Wisburg Secondary, led by Joel Isaacs who has two goals, won against New Silver City Secondary 2-1, benefited from a walkover win against the Private Schools Combined, but lost to Linden Foundation Secondary 4-0.
