New Top Cop meets with GPF Performance Group

Newly appointed Police Commissioner Leslie James on Friday met the Guyana Police Force’s (GPF’s) Performance Group and outlined key areas that are intended to improve the relationship between members of the Force and the general public.

James was, on Thursday, appointed Police Commissioner with immediate effect. Four Assistant Commissioners were each also appointed Deputy Commissioners. They are Lyndon Alves, Maxine Graham, Nigel Hoppie and Paul Williams, who were all in the running for the Commissioner’s post.
The four deputies will be responsible for four areas of the Force: Operations, Administration, Law Enforcement, and Special Branch/ Intelligence.
