Guyana Properties (GP) Real Estate Company was on Friday launched with the aim of revolutionising the services here in Guyana and overseas.
Operating in Guyana and the United States, the company has been specifically designed to target the real estate market here and was birthed out of the need for a quality real estate experience.
Their services are not limited to property management, title services, appraisals and general marketing of properties.
It promises a “North American-style” approach to the industry, while identifying current demands across the local scope and the flurry of development which is anticipated in the future.
Chief Executive Officer, Chris Thakoorpersad stated that the objective is to initially employ and fully train at least 100 persons who can provide a first-class service to clients.
In addition, President Myrna Nieves stated, “We’re looking to train them in everything from the principles of real estate to the contract process to the closing process. They will be prepared to facilitate the process and partner with everyone involved. When we say partner, we are speaking of the law makers, the dignitaries, the attorneys, our colleagues, other real estate agents. We want to come together as a team and offer Guyana a real estate service that is effective and efficient for all”.
Apart from offering Guyanese a profession in the industry, she noted that stakeholders can expect a “phenomenal” marketing strategy, with plans in the pipeline to target expats.
GP will be partnering with Gunraj and Company as it pertains to legal compliance. Sase Gunraj, a partner at the firm, outlined that this new venture will see the utilisation of technology to revolutionise the market.
“There’s actually a module that is being developed that includes drone footage, specific pictures, elaborate description of amenities etc…You don’t have to go hounding an agent to get details. As long as a property is listed, all of the requisite details and perhaps more will be readily available in that listing. A person going to the GP listing or the GP social media pages will garner at one glance, all of the information that is necessary.”
Gunraj added that the company is not focused on competing or stymieing other players in the industry, but rather is seeking to collaborate and benefit mutually.
“It’s about getting everyone on board to ensure that the real estate industry is revolutionised…We see lots of people are sceptical in dealing with agents and perhaps that comes from the level of discomfort or the bad taste that is left in persons’ mouth by the unfortunate or unsavoury incidents that they might have experienced with real estate agents. It is our intention to change all of that,” the attorney-at-law noted.
Handling the marketing area of the company is former West Indies cricketer, Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
