NIS inspector robbed in minibus

Rudolph Primo of Diamond, East Bank Demerara, an Inspector of the National Insurance Scheme (NIS), was reportedly robbed by passengers while commuting to Georgetown in a Route 42 minibus at about 00:22h on Friday.
The 47-year-old Primo had reportedly boarded the minibus at the Diamond Public Road to commute to Georgetown, but while in the vicinity of Eccles, East Bank Demerara, two passengers requested to be let off at Agricola. Primo, who was sitting in a seat in front of them, had to exit the bus in order for them to get off. The two men then held him up, one choking him and another pointing a gun in his face with a demand that he hand over his valuables.
The perpetrators then proceeded to relieve the victim of his Blu mobile phone valued $20,000 and $50,000 in cash before making good their escape on foot east into Agricola.
The matter has been reported, and the Police are said to be investigating the incident.
