NIS response to GAWU’s picketing

Dear Editor,
The National Insurance Scheme wishes to update you on the following.
During the latter half of 2021, the National Insurance Scheme held a tripartite meeting with GuySuCo and GAWU to address outstanding matters pertaining to insured persons.
NIS has also been engaging GuySuCo on a one-on-one basis through their representatives Mr. Vemen Walters and Mr. Sherwyn Stewart. The last meeting with GuySuCo was held on December 14, 2021.
All meetings and engagements addressed outstanding matters of registration, contributions, claims, benefits, etc that may hinder the insured person from receiving their payments in a timely manner.
Additionally, NIS has an open-door policy in which Field Secretaries are free to visit the Local Office in their area and have their matters addressed by the Office Manager.
GuySuCo and NIS have the next scheduled meeting on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 to again address all matters of concern.

Yours sincerely,
