No. 72 All Star, No. 68 secure quarter-final spots

Quarter-final spots in the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA)/ Roy Baijnauth T20 competition were secured by #72 All-Stars and #68 who secured wins this past week.
At the # 72 All Star Ground, it was a close encounter as the hosts defeated the # 70 Spartans by 4 runs in a match which was interrupted by rain. Batting first, the Spartans scored 119-8 in their 20 overs with batsmen Rayon Yacoob top scoring with 36 while support came from Akash Persaud (24) and Chris Bollers (15).
Bowling for # 72 All Star was led by Demetri Cameron who grabbed 2-12, while Wayne Garnett 2-26, Amardeo Hemchand 2-19 and Parmeshwar Chatterpaul 2-24 were the other wicket-takers.
Replying to the score set by the Spartans, the # 72 All Stars were propelled by knocks from Cameron 25, skipper Mahendra Bhoj 23 and Khameshwar Chatterpaul 21*. Omesh Khemraj 2-12, Khameshwar Ramjit 2-20 and Chris Bollers 1-19 bowled well for the # 70 Spartans, who won by 4 runs.
At # 68 Grounds, the home team beat Yakasari Caribs by 30 runs. Batting first, # 68 scored 138 for 5 in their 20 overs with Totaram Persaud smashing 69 while Joshua Francis and Daneshwar Ghanie chipped in with 28 and 26 respectively.
The Yakasari Caribs barely mustered 53 in 12 overs as Totaram Persaud 3-3, Ravindra Ramnauth 1-23 and Avinash Seecharran 1-16 did the damage with the ball.
