Days after the body of 68-year-old Sohan Ramdial, also called “Nancy”, a cattle farmer of Lot 69 Claybrick Road, Belle West, West Bank Demerara (WBD), was found in a shallow grave, the Police are yet to arrest any suspects.
However, as investigations continue into the murder, an autopsy done on the body of the pensioner proved that he died as a result of perforation of the lung and heart owing to multiple penetrated wounds. The body was discovered on Monday.
The autopsy was done by Government Pathologist, Dr Nehaul Singh at the Ezekiel Funeral Home on Friday.
When contacted, Police Commander of Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara), Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean told Guyana Times that the Police had no leads, but they were continuing to pursue the matter.
It was reported that the now dead pensioner left home on Sunday last at approximately 17:00h to check on his cattle, and did not return home.
This resulted in worried family members launching a search for him on Monday.
As the family intensified the search, one of the man’s children saw a freshly cut bush and disturbed dirt which raised his suspicions.
He started to dig at the spot and made the gruesome discovery. The Police arrived at the scene after they were contacted and upon examination of the body, they discovered stab wounds to the chest.
Family members stated that the man tended to his cattle on a daily basis and they were not aware that he had enemies.
