Aaliyah, from the Cinderella county of Essequibo was last seen at her grandmother’s house. She first went missing on 23 December 2015, but was found two days later in a home in Charity by a family member. She was taken home, only to go missing again two days later. She has been missing ever since.
Speaking to Guyana Times Roxanne Smith the grandmother, stated that Aaliyah showed no sign of being troubled.
She related however, that there were two issues where it was alleged that she stole some cash sometime back and was summoned to an investigation to recover what had been stolen.
When asked “why only now has this issue been raised after so many months?” grandma Roxanne replied that the police have always been working on the matter, as such, the family had contacted the Social Protection Ministry who advised them to make it public again.
