GCB-CWI Kiddy Progression One Cricket

As the Guyana Cricket Board-Cricket West Indies (GCB-CWI) Kiddy Progression One Cricket continued for primary schools in Georgetown at the Thirst Park Ground, North Georgetown defeated Marian Academy while South Ruimveldt outplayed Thomas Moore.

In the matches that were played on Tuesday, October 22, South Ruimveldt defeated St Thomas Moore Primary by 11 wickets. St Thomas Moore batted first and paced their way to 64 for 9 off their allotted 14 overs. Ezekiel Blair and Alex Jones were the main contributors with the bat with 11 and 10 respectively. Bowling for South Ruimveldt, Akeem Bernard grabbed 2 for 1.
In reply, South Ruimveldt made light work of their modest victory target, reaching 55 for 2 off just nine of their allotted 14 overs. Akeem Bernard stroked an unbeaten 14, Frederick Jack made 10 and Kenneth Lee, 6. Bowling for St Thomas Moore, Shawn Mc Pherson and Blair had one wicket each.
In the other match played on the said day, North Georgetown defeated Marian Academy by nine wickets. Marian Academy batted first and battled their way to 67 for 9 off their allotted 14 overs. Jeremy Chung stroked 16, inclusive of 2 fours.
In response, North Georgetown’s Dellon Wray and Kareem Caesar featured in a first-wicket partnership of 38, with each batsman contributing 20. Wray struck two fours and one six in his effort while Caesar hit one four and two sixes. Although North Georgetown lost a few quick wickets with the dismissal of the openers, they managed to easily reach their target, finishing on 68-4 within the ninth of their allotted 14 overs. Arshia Narine took 2-16.
