Norton Street robbery accused remanded

A Norton Street, Georgetown man who admitted to robbing another was on Monday remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Stephon Apple, 20, of Lot 15 Norton Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, appeared before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus and pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on December 14, at Norton Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, he stole three gold rings valued $100,000, one gold band valued $50,000 and $54,000, property of Chetwyn Eastman.
Police Prosecutor Quinn Harris informed the court that on December 14, at about 10:30h, the Virtual Complainant placed items in a haversack on his dining table. However, when he returned, he realised that the items were missing. The VC then reviewed CCTV footage and saw the 20-year-old removing the articles.
The matter was then reported and Apple was arrested. On Monday after listening to the facts, Magistrate Isaacs-Marcus deferred sentencing to January 13, 2020.
