“Not In My House” postponed to November 23

The highly anticipated and greatly desired “Not in My House” boxing card, which had been scheduled for staging on September 28 at Durban Park, has been postponed to November 23, 2019.

Promoters of the event were Faced with last minute issues that would have affected the quality of the event, the promoters of this mega-event have wisely opted to move the date rather than allow the challenges to depreciate the quality of this grand event.
Speaking on behalf of the promotions team, Rudy Ramalingum has said that all tickets issued are still valid, and patrons would be updated on the progress of the event.,
GBBC President Peter Abdool has likewise expressed regret at this development, but has said he is comfortable with the delay, since it would give the boxers and promoters additional time to prepare for a bigger spectacle.
The promoters and sponsors of this proverbial volcano will give away 30,000 General Admission tickets and 4,000 VIP Ringside tickets, but only through their sponsors.
Sanctioned by the Guyana Boxing Board, this event dubbed “Not in MY House” will see fighters from Colombia, USA and Trinidad square off against the best Guyana has to offer. The feature event would see Guyana’s gladiator Dexter Marques return to the ring to confront Colombian strongman Jose Antonio Jimenez.
Speaking for the promotion team, Aleem Hussain has said, “It’s time that the people of Guyana got a major entertainment event without a huge cost attached. Unlike other sports, this event is totally free through sponsors’ ticket distribution, and we expect the thousands of persons in attendance will purchase over $50 million in food and drinks from small local vendors, who will be able to sell their items without paying to do so.
“We believe that by giving back to the community, we are accomplishing several things: creating a way for everyone to earn some money; stimulating the economy; and most of all, showcasing the talent that Guyanese have to the world.”
According to the Promoters, the Boxing will be followed by an epic HJ Entertainment and Guyana Carnival music festival.
