The wait is finally over and it is now time for four nights of non-stop laughter when the theatrical production, “Nothing to Laugh About 10” is hosted at the National Cultural Centre.
The local comedy production opens this evening and will run for four days.
In an interview with Guyana Times Entertainment, producer of the comedy production, Maria Benschop expressed her delight in the successful staging of the show for the last 10 years.
As such, she revisited the moment it all stated and shared the concept from which “Nothing to Laugh About” was birthed.
“We are based on situations that are indeed nothing to laugh about, but after the fact, when you may have gotten over the anger, hurt or pain, you can look back at it and find it funny. That’s what we do, we take ordinary situations that are not otherwise funny and show the humour in it,” expressed the long standing producer.
This year’s production is guaranteed to be a grand showdown as the team celebrates their 10th anniversary with comedy beyond expectation.
The spectacle will include a series of plot twists blended into the presentations, as well as flamboyant costumes to match every character as the cast zooms in on political and other events occurring throughout the year to add to their humorous twists.
Taking the stage this weekend will be some well-known faces in comedy, as the list includes Michael Ignatious, Leza “Radika” Singh, Linden “Jumby” Jones, Mark Kazim, Mark Luke Edwards and the famous Sir Kerwin Mars, among others.
“Nothing to Laugh About 10” is dubbed a family experience as the entertainment is set for both young and old.
Tickets for this event are tagged at $1000, $1500, $2000 and are available at the National Cultural Centre, Nigel Supermarket, Elegance Jewellery and Pawn Shop, Payless Variety Store, Gizmoz and Gadgets and the Giftland Mall.
