NSC organises cycle racing workshop for Bartica

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has organised a three-day cycle racing workshop for teachers and interested persons in Bartica, Region Seven and the wider region.
The activity, which will be conducted by national cycling coach Hassan Mohamed, was scheduled to commence on Tuesday, June 28 at 13:00h at the Bartica Community Centre and will run until Thursday, June 30.
According to Mohamed, the rules of competitive cycling and organising cycle races will be the primary focus of the workshop.

Mohamed, the senior coach at the NSC, said it was the intention of the Education Ministry to go to all 10 regions of Guyana and conduct outreach programmes.
Just last week, the Ministry’s Department of Sport, in collaboration with the NSC, held a similar workshop that benefited teachers from 15 primary and secondary schools in Region Seven.
The three-day workshop was conducted by cricket coaches Latchman Radram and Daniel Richmond.
At the end of the cycling workshop, the teachers and others who benefited from it will be charged with the responsibility of passing on their knowledge to students and other interested persons in the Region.
