Nude body of male found at South Better Hope

Police in Division 4C have launched an investigation into the discovery of a man’s body at South Better Hope, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on Wednesday.
Investigations have so far revealed that, ten minutes prior to the discovery, an anonymous caller had contacted the Sparendaam Police Station and reported that a corpse was seen in the Better Hope area. As such, ranks went to the scene and observed the severely sunburnt body of a male of African descent lying on his back naked.

The body was examined, and a decomposed open wound measuring six inches was observed on the left thigh.
The identity of this corpse is unknown, but reports are that this man used to do odd jobs in the area, but had had no fixed place of abode.
The body has been escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home to await identification and post mortem examination.
