A Barima Karibo, North West District man was on Tuesday remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan after he reportedly inflicted bodily harm on his sister-in-law.
Lawrence Benjamin, 24, was remanded after he denied the offence, which allegedly occurred at Barima Karibo on July 14, 2018.
The miner will make his next court appearance on August 6, 2018.
Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield told the Court that the Virtual Complainant (VC) was still hospitalised at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
