A 45-year-old woman of Tasawini Village, North West District (NWD), was on Saturday chopped during an argument with her neighbour.
Police stated that on the day in question at about 15:00h, Inez Gouveia and the suspect, Martina Smith, were imbibing when a heated argument broke out between them during which Smith armed herself with a cutlass and chopped Gouveia to the left arm.
The now injured woman managed to make her way to Pakera District Hospital, where she was treated and admitted a patient. Her condition is regarded as serious but stable.
The suspect was contacted, told of the allegation and cautioned, after which she admitted to committing the act. She remains in custody pending charges.
