Ogle trio attacked, robbed at gunpoint

Three persons were on Thursday evening attacked and robbed by two gunmen during a home invasion at their Area G Ogle, East Coast Demerara (ECD) home.
The victims are 37-year-old Sadick Yaseen, 47-year-old Zabeeda Yaseen, and 17-year-old Sachin Harichan.
Based on reports received, the trio was standing in front of their yard when they noticed a white Toyota Allion motor car pull up in front of their house.
Two identifiable men then exited the vehicle and approached the victims. It was reported that one of the suspects dealt Sadick one blow to his head with a gun, after which he and his accomplice forced the trio into their house.
The victims were reportedly told to lay on the floor as the men demanded cash and other valuables.
They were relieved of two mobile phones, an undisclosed sum of cash, and their jewellery. The bandits then made good their escape in the waiting motor car.
After the men left, an alarm was raised and the Police were summoned. Detectives have since taken statements as they continue their investigations into the robbery.
Earlier in the week, 40-year-old Ahilia Robertson and 38-year-old Yogita Balgobin of Mon Repos Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara (ECD), were robbed by two armed men as they were about to retire to bed.
It was reported that the two women were allegedly robbed after the gunmen invaded their property.
Robertson had just locked her gate and as she walked towards her house, she observed two men, one armed with a gun and the other with a knife, walking towards her.
The men held onto her and began demanding that she hand over the cash and jewellery. Fearful for her life, Robertson led the men to where she was keeping the valuables. Robertson and Balgobin were relieved of two cell phones, one laptop, and one iPad.
After the robbery, one of the bandits allegedly hit Robertson to her neck before making good their escape in a waiting motor car.
