a 28-year-old labourer from Onderneeming, Red Village in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) was on Monday evening discovered dead on a bed in his residence. He was discovered by relatives in a crouching position on a bed with a rope around his neck.
The labourer, Javindra Narayan, called “Roopnarine” was said to be living with his common law wife at Onderneeming Red Village. According to reports, the man exhibited no signed of suicidal tendencies, so his
death continues to baffle relatives.
Guyana Times was told that at the time of the incident, Narayan was at home alone while his common law wife was at work. But even as Police investigate the man’s death, relatives are contending that there seems to be some foul play involved, since the position Narayan was in at the time of his discovery is not consistent with suicide by hanging.
The body has since been taken to the Suddie Hospital mortuary as Police await a post-mortem examination to determine the way forward with their investigations.
