Twenty-one-year-old Jifon Gulliver was placed before Magistrate Roshelle Liverpool at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court to answer the charge of robbery under arms. His three accomplices are still on the run.
Gulliver of Lot 231 Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara (WCD), denied the charge of robbery under arms and was granted $150,000 bail by Magistrate Liverpool and will make his next court appearance on July 26. On June 7, 2017, at about 01:00h, Gulliver along with three other accomplices entered the Colombian Gold Night Club located at Uitvlugt, WCD. They proceeded to purchase one beer each along with cigarettes before leaving.
Two other men were drinking at the bar and as they were about to leave, the quartet returned and opened fire at the men. One of the men was injured during the ordeal. They relieved the men of their cash and other valuables and made good their escape with a licensed firearm belonging to one of the victims.
Gulliver was apprehended on Thursday and the trio remains at large. Police investigations are still ongoing.
