“Otisha” get reduced bail by Chief Magistrate

Commercial sex worker Otis Pearson, more popularly known as “Otisha”, was on Tuesday granted reduced bail when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Pearson was previously placed on $300,000 bail when he was charged for engaging in sexual activities with a 14-year-old boy last month.
That charge alleged that on December 24, 2017 at Station Street, Kitty, Georgetown, Pearson engaged in sexual activity with a child under the age of 16. Pearson, who resides at Lot 61 Station Street, Kitty, was not required to plead to the charge.

Earlier this year, Pearson came under fire when he was heard saying to the media that he has a little boy for every day of the week. Just a short time after, an image began to circulate on social media which showed Pearson in a close embrace with a young boy.
The Childcare and Protection Agency (CC&PA) immediately launched an investigation into the matter and a file was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions who recommended that charges be laid.
Pearson is now on $200,000 bail and is expected to return to court on July 16.
