Outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Guyana Zhang Limin has praised the friendship of the People’s Republic of China and Guyana, noting that the People’s Republic is committed to assisting developing countries such as Guyana.
Ambassador Limin has served as the People’s Republic of China’s Ambassador to Guyana for the past four years, but as he prepares to leave the post, he vowed that the relationship between the two countries will continue.
“As the biggest developing country, China is doing its best to help some medium and small developing countries like Guyana… in recent years, the Chinese Government has continuously provided assistance to the Guyanese Government to help the economic development,” Zhang through his interpreter pointed out.
He made these comments at the Education Ministry on Thursday where he also stressed that the people of Chinese are committed to providing assistance to add to the improvement of Guyana’s education sector.
“I have been here for four years and I’m about to leave [and] I’m very happy to be here… even as I leave, the Chinese people and the Chinese companies will still make donations to the schools, nursing homes and other organisations,” the Chinese Ambassador stated.
“The friendship between Guyana and China will become better and better, thank you,” Ambassador Limin stressed. He will leave at the end of the month and Guyana Times understands that his replacement will arrive in December.
