Over 150 Sisters Village residents benefit from CIOG outreach
Over 150 residents of Sisters Village, West Bank of Demerara have benefited from a medical outreach facilitated by the Central Islamic Organization of Guyana (CIOG) in collaboration with the Sisters Village Masjid on Sunday.
The services provided at the outreach comprised testing for blood pressure, glucose, HIV, STI and VIA; eye care administration; the provision of COVID-19 vaccination and booster shots; advice on health care for the elderly, men, and adolescents; attending to chronic diseases with medical advice from general and specialist doctors; therapeutic massage, and provision of over-the-counter and prescription medication.
The outreach was supported by The Guyana Cancer Foundation, National Aids Programme Secretariat, National Blood Transfusion Service, Dauntless Professional Therapeutic Bodyworks, Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation – VIA Maternal Health Unit and Chronic Disease Division, The Ministry of Public Health – The Elderly, Men’s and Adolescent Health Care Unit, Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) COVID-19 Vaccination Team and SEWA International.
