Over $3M at stake in Jumbo-Jet’s 8-race programme

The Jumbo-Jet Thoroughbred Race Committee (JJTRC) has planned a one-day mega horse race meet for the Rising-Sun Turf Club on December 3.
As the year-end horse race season heats up, horse owners and turfites alike will be licking their lips for this 8-race programme with lots of cash and other incentives up for grabs.

The feature event is for the “C” Class and Lower covering a distance of 1200M and fetching a top purse of $1,000,000. The second place finisher will ride away with $500,000 while the third place prize is $250,000.
Then there will be the “E and F” Class and Lower with $400,000 going to the winner and $200,000 to the runner-up and $100,000 for third. This event is open to all non-earners in the “E” Class for 2017 as they will have another chance of winning before the year is over.
The “H 1” and Lower has a total of $581,240 at stake with $300,000 going to the winner. The race for the three-year old Guyana bred horses and for horses classified “H” and Lower who have not earned in their last two races and also to “I 1 and Lower.” The winner will pocket $250,000.
The other events are for the two-year old Guyana bred and the “J 3” horses who did not earn in their last two events, the “K” Class, “L and Lower” and the “L” Class non-earners since Guyana Cup 2017.
All eight races will cover the same distance and will be run according to the Guyana Horse Racing Authority rules but must meet the requirements of the Jumbo-Jet Thoroughbred Racing Committee.
