Two men from East Bank Berbice (EBB), Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne), were arrested and jointly charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking after Police found a significant quantity of cannabis.
Travis Thomas, 35, of Glasgow Village, and Trendy Forde, 31, of Heath Burn, were apprehended on Thursday at Strathspey, East Coast Demerara (ECD), where they were found in possession of 47.40 pounds of cannabis.
Both men appeared before Magistrate Sunil Scare at Vigilance Magistrates’ Courts on Friday, where the charges were read to them, and they entered a plea of not guilty. They were subsequently remanded to prison. The case has been adjourned to March 2.
