Over 7kg ganja found during Police operation in Reg 3

Acting on intelligence received, Police in Regional Division Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) on Friday unearthed a quantity of ganja at the home of a teacher at Farm Village, East Bank Essequibo (EBE).
Upon arriving at the location, the ranks informed the 23-year-old teacher that they had received information that narcotics and ammunition are kept at her home, and they requested her permission to search the property.

The narcotics found at the shop in Farm Village, EBE

During the search operation, the ranks asked the teacher to allow them to search a small red shop situated in front of her home, but she informed them that that shop was controlled by her sister and her sister’s husband.
However, some of the ranks stayed at the shop while the other ranks went to the Vergenoegen location where the couple who controls the shop resides.
On arrival at Vergenoegen, the ranks received information that the couple had escaped through the backyard and had boarded a car.
Meanwhile, back in Farm Village, Police ranks were getting a strong scent of suspected cannabis emanating from the shop. As a result, one of the ranks broke the padlock on the western main door to gain entry. In so doing, several blue five-gallon plastic jars were seen on the ground. One of the ranks then checked each of those jars and discovered that two of the jars had their bottoms cut open and contained several bulky parcels wrapped with transparent plastic containing ganja. The teacher was questioned about the narcotics, but she denied having any knowledge. The cannabis was then escorted to Parika Police Station, where it was weighed and amounted to 7.257 kilograms.
The Police are on the hunt for the two suspects.
