Pakuri Warriors continue winning ways

The action continued at the St Cuthbert’s Cricket Ground as the St Cuthbert’s Pakuri Warriors battled Timehri in a thrilling T20 affair.

Denzil Schuman supported with 2-5

St Cuthbert’s won the toss and chose to bat. It was Ronnie Simon and Chavez Schuman that took to the crease for the home team, but they lost Captain Simon in the second over, bowled by Jaden (only name given) for 1 with the score on 2.
That made way for Stollone Simon, and he and his batting partner took the score to 41, before Schuman was caught on 15 runs in the seventh over.
David Frances came in at number four and got off the mark with a boundary in his usual aggressive style, but then Simon fell for 20.
Frances was next to go when he was caught on the sweeper boundary after hitting two boundaries and two maximums in an entertaining 26. Contributions then came from Odell Schuman (21); Avenesh Poonsammy (15); Wendell Williams (10), along with 34 extras, to take the score to 149-8 in 20 overs.
In reply, C Dundas and Nicko (only name given) opened the batting for Timehri, but Ronnie struck with his fifth delivery to remove Dundas for 5.

Ronnie Simon bagged 4-10

Simon’s second over was no different as he struck with his sixth delivery with the score on 10.
Julio Ferreira bowled a maiden in the fourth over, and then it was over to Ronnie; the Timehri boys seemed not to have a clue to his bowling length. He then struck twice in his third over.
In the end, the Timehri boys were bundled out for 41 in a disappointing show. Bowling for Warriors were Ronnie with 4-10 and Denzil Schuman, who supported with 2-5, while Timothy Andrews and Julio Ferreira bagged one wicket each.
