Pedestrian critical after being struck by motorcar
A pedestrian is clinging to life at the Georgetown Public Hospital (gphc) after he was struck by a motorcar while attempting to cross the Strathspey Railway Embankment road, East Coast Demerara (ECD), on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. The identity and other particulars of the man are unknown.
Preliminary investigations conducted by the Police revealed that at about 19:45h, the unknown man was attempting to cross the road when he was hit by a motorcar bearing registration number PVV 9941, driven by a resident of Friendship, ECD.
The man sustained injuries and he was picked up and taken to the GPHC in an
unconscious state and admitted a patient in the Accident and Emergency Unit in critical condition. He suffered injuries to the head and other parts of his body.
The driver of the motorcar was detained and subsequently released on bail. The Police are urging family members of the patient to visit the hospital or to contact the Police station to furnish them with the relevant information pertaining to the patient.
