Pedestrian critical following hit-and-run in NA

An unidentified man is in a critical condition after he was reportedly struck down by a motor car along Main Street, New Amsterdam, on Saturday. The accident reportedly occurred at about 07:00h.
Police stated that based on reports gathered, the motor vehicle was proceeding along Main Street, New Amsterdam, at a fast rate of speed while the pedestrian was attempting to cross the road
As a result, the vehicle collided with the pedestrian, causing him to crash into the windshield after which he fell onto the road’s surface where he received injuries about the body. The vehicle, however, fled the scene without rendering assistance.
The injured man was picked up in an unconscious condition by members of the Guyana Fire Service and taken to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he was treated and transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
There, he was further examined by a doctor and admitted a patient suffering from a fractured skull. His condition is regarded as serious. The Police are on the hunt for the vehicle that was involved in the accident.
