A pedestrian is now hospitalised after a hit-and-run incident on High Street, Georgetown, and according to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), law enforcement officers are actively searching for the driver involved, who fled the scene.
Reports are that at about 19:00h on Thursday, a motorcycle crashed into Jvon Ross of Durban Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, causing him to sustain injuries about his body. The rider of the motorcycle was reportedly proceeding north along High Street, against the one-way direction of this road, at a fast rate when he collided with Ross, who was crossing the road from the east to the west in the vicinity of the Ashmin building.
Ross sustained injuries about his body, and fell on the roadway. He was picked up by his parents, placed in a motorcar and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where a doctor on duty admitted him as a patient.
The driver of the motorcycle rode away after colliding with Ross, but the scene was visited by police, and investigations are ongoing. (G9)
