A pedestrian was on Saturday evening rushed to the emergency unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital after she was reportedly struck down by a drunk driver along the Rupert Craig Highway, Greater Georgetown. The injured woman has been identified as 28-year-old Shevorna Rhyna.
Based on reports received, on the day in question at about 23:30h a motor car bearing registration number PYY 962 was proceeding along the Rupert Craig Highway and whilst in the vicinity of Conversation Tree Road, it is alleged by the driver that the traffic light signal was showing green and as such, he continued his journey.

As a result of the collision, Rhyna fell onto the road’s surface and received injuries about her body and was later picked up in a conscious state by EMT personnel and transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital Accident and Emergency Unit where she was treated and admitted a patient suffering from a broken left leg and injuries to the head.
