Pensioner dies after falling from bicycle during morning ride

A 67-year-old pensioner, Ingrid Tull of Choppers Lane, West Ruimveldt, has died after reportedly falling from a bicycle on Friday while riding in the vicinity of Laing Avenue, Georgetown. The dead woman’s sister, Jennifer Tull, who was visibly shaken by the tragedy, recalled the moments just before the accident.
She explained that her sister had been carrying out her usual morning routine, including tending to household chores and feeding pets, before leaving the house to go cycling. “This morning she got up, and I told her to come in the bedroom and clean up the cat mess, right? She said she would come in, and she came down. When she came down, we ended up talking. I told her about the cat, and she was feeding it, and we were talking. One thing led to another, and she left the house. I wasn’t even aware when she went out,” the devastated sister related.
While her sister was out, Jennifer said she was bathing when she was alerted by a passer-by who informed her of an incident involving her sister. Hesitant to leave the bathroom as she was not finished bathing, she told the man she was unable to come out at that moment.

Deceased: Ingrid Tull

“When I was bathing, somebody was yelling inside. I said I can’t come out, and the person said, ‘Oh, you bathing? Well, you stay right there.’ Then someone else came and said that Ingrid got in an accident, so I called my grandson and told him to go quickly to check his aunty. He put on his clothes and left,” she said.
She added that while she was praying that nothing serious had happened, her grandson later returned with the devastating news.
“I said, ‘Oh God, don’t let she die; don’t let anything happen to her.’ By the time he came back, the same man who had gone earlier was there. ‘Auntie, your sister dead,’ he said. I said, ‘What?’ I couldn’t move because I was at home alone’” she recounted.
Reports indicate that the woman reportedly fell and hit her head, after which she began bleeding from her nose and mouth.
The matter remains under investigation.
