Pensioner found stabbed to death at Ogle home; husband in custody

Police are investigating the death of 89-year-old Lackandai Tamessar, a pensioner of Ogle Airstrip Road, whose body was discovered with apparent stab wounds at her residence. The incident is believed to have occurred between Friday, December 26, and Tuesday, December 30.
According to reports, Tamessar was last seen alive on December 26 by a relative who visited her home. When the relative returned on December 30, she was found lying motionless with injuries consistent with stabbing.
The body was taken to the Plaisance Health Centre, where a doctor pronounced her dead on arrival. It was subsequently transported to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
An 88-year-old man, identified as the deceased’s husband, was present at the time the body was found. He has been arrested and is assisting Police with the ongoing investigation.
