Pensioner killed in suspected hit-and-run at Linden

Police have launched an investigation into a hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a 72-year-old Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) resident.
Dead is Randolph Braithwaite of Lot 1369 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden.
According to police reports, Braithwaite’s body was discovered lying on the southern parapet of the 3rd corner of the Amelia’s Ward access road early Saturday morning with visible lacerations suspected to have been caused by a motor vehicle on Saturday.

Police believe the incident involved an unknown vehicle or vehicles. Emergency responders transported Braithwaite to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body has since been transferred to Jetsco Funeral Home pending a post-mortem examination.
