…Championship showdown set for September 6
The National Top Flight Golf League (NTFGL) Tour Two will reach its climax on Sunday, September 6, with defending champion Patanjilee Persaud leading a tightly contested championship race.
The final, backed by Promotech and Danny’s Auto Sales, is set for Lusignan Golf Course, where Persaud will seek to successfully defend the title he won as the inaugural NTFGL champion.

Persaud enters the final round on 19 points but has little room for error. Maxim Mangra and Anand Persaud are tied on 18 points, while Joseph Szeplaki is just two points off the lead on 17.
The standings have set up a thrilling four-way battle for the championship, with the leading contenders expected to feature in the marquee group for the final round.
Persaud’s rise to the top has been one of the major talking points of Tour Two. After a slow start to his title defence, the two-time Suriname Open winner found his best form at the business end of the competition. He collected seven points in Round Six before producing a superb net 65 in Round Seven to earn the maximum 10 points.
Persaud’s 65 came after Rohan Albert had posted a strong net 66, including a net 31 on the front nine. Persaud responded with a net 31 on the back nine to finish one stroke better and claim the maximum points. The result, combined with his Round Six haul, gave Persaud 17 points over two rounds and moved him into the overall lead.
The defending champion will now look to complete the comeback on September 13, but with only two points separating the top four players, the NTFGL title remains wide open.
The Promotech and Danny’s Auto Sales-backed finale is therefore expected to provide a fitting conclusion to Tour Two, with Persaud seeking to retain the crown while Mangra, Anand Persaud and Szeplaki aim to deny him a second consecutive championship.
This event is free and open to members of the public.
