Persaud winner of BK International Golf Tournament

…“One player will be eligible for consideration for freeentry into the Guyana Open,” says LGC

On Saturday, September 18, 2021, the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) hosted a Medal Play Tournament that was held with the kind sponsorship of BK International. The tournament saw a total of 32 players participating; in the end, it was Videsh Persaud who walked away with the majority of the spoils.
The winners’ row was as follows:
* First: Videsh Persaud, Gross 89, H/C 27, Net 62
* Second: Mike Mangal, Gross 78, H/C 6, Net 72
* Third: Maxim Mangra, Gross 88, H/C 16, Net 72
* Front Nine: Videsh Persaud, Gross 45, H/C 27, Net 32
* Back Nine: Videsh Persaud, Gross 44, H/C 27, Net 30
* Nearest To The Pin: Mike Mangal
Also present at the event was Director of BK Group of Companies Briony Tiwarie-Gabriel, who said, “We would like to thank the Club for being a part of this; We truly appreciate this. It is not the first time we have been a part of this and we are more than happy once again to sponsor this event. We do understand the challenges the COVID has brought in the past year and as such, we are more than happy to have supported such an event. I’d like to congratulate all those who participated and I hope you guys had an amazing day.”

Also sharing her sentiments was LGC Public Relations Officer (PRO) Anasha Ally, who stated that the Club was grateful to be back. She also complimented the grounds staff and management for the work they have done as golf was at a standstill for some months due to the unprecedented rainfall and flooding. Ally went on to reiterate that she was grateful to BK International for its sponsorship of the tournament as the Club needs as much funding as possible given that it has endured one of the most difficult years, with COVID-19 and flooding putting a halt to some of its plans. Nevertheless, Ally related that because of the management and executives pushing, the Club was back on track.

Mike Mangal

The LGC has noted that players who participate in tournaments from September 18 to October 25 will be eligible for consideration for free entry as a player into the Guyana Open Tournament via a competition format. Points will be awarded to players based on their net scores in each tournament; also, points will be awarded to the top five players for the day based on their net scores.

Third-place winner Maxim Mangra

The player who accumulates the most points at the end of the exercise will be declared the winner and can participate in the Guyana Open without having to pay the tournament fee.

Thus far, in the lead is Videsh Persaud with 10 points; Mike Mangal – 8 points; Maxim Mangra – 6 points; Brian Glasford – 5 points and Pope London – 4 points.
