From the very start at Carifesta X in 2008, Mark Kazim has always been full of surprises. Today, he is known as the popular “Lo Li” who has become a cultural phenomenon. However, what you may not know is Mark is an award winning actor who takes versatility to whole different level.
From a blind father in “The Blind Truth” to a gangster in “The Golden Scheme” to a sexual predator in “Imprisoned”; it is clear to anyone who is a fan that there is no role he cannot dominate. Mark Kazim has been featured in countless stage performances, endless commercials, several movies and is a currently a lead actor in local comedy group “Reactors”, local sitcom “Days Like Dese”, Guyana’s biggest comedy show “Nothing to Laugh About (NTLA)” and is one of the hottest stand-up comedians in “UNCENSORED”.
Mark however, has a degree in Computer Science and after graduating from the University of Guyana, he chose not to follow any professions in that field.
Instead, he ventured into sales and marketing and took his first job at the National Communications Network where he became one of the top sales representatives in the business.
This Charlestown born actor/comedian is passionate about being a positive influence which makes him a great cast member for “Nothing to Laugh About”. Kazim was added to the cast for NTLA Part 2 and has transformed before our eyes. His acting has only gotten better and it is clear that greater things are yet to come for him.
Kazim is also co-host and co-producer of “Love and Laughter” – a weekly television programme focused on drama and comedy aired on Channel 9 and Channel 28.
This young thespian is married and is the father of two beautiful girls. His dedication and commitment is evident in the care and attention he invests in his family.
The talented young man always keeps his audience wanting more and he promises to do the same all four nights of “NTLA 11” slated for June 1-4 at the National Cultural Centre.
