The National Gymnasium is the venue for this evening’s hosting of the second Petra Futsal Championships, and it is anticipated that the six matches which would be played would generate exciting action, since losing teams would immediately be eliminated from the competition.

Among the top teams scheduled to appear on opening night are current Georgetown and national Guinness champions Sparta Boss, Festival City, Leopold Street, Agricola Ballers and Broad Street.
The event features 24 teams, namely: defending champions Bent Street, Sparta Boss, North Ruimveldt, Tiger Bay, Albouystown, Tucville, Festival City, Campbellville, Sophia, Back Circle, Stevedore Housing Scheme, West Back Road, West Front Road, Leopold Street, Hustlers, North East La Penitence, Alexander Village, Channel 9 Warriors, Broad Street Bullies, Agricola Champion Boys, Kitty, Globe Yard, Showstoppers and Camp Street All-Stars.
Top two finishers at the end of the round-robin stage, and the two best third ranked teams from the respective groups, will progress to the quarterfinal phase.
The winner of the tournament is set to pocket $400,000 and the championship trophy; while the second, third and fourth placed finishers will collect $200,000, $100,000 and $50,000 respectively and the corresponding accolade.
The event is slated to conclude on April 15th.
