Pillion rider killed in Linden hit-and-run

A pillion rider was in the wee hours of Sunday killed following a hit-and-run accident along Amelia’s Ward Public Road in Linden.
Dead is 21-year-old Dale Nelson of Lot 16-11 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, who was at the time not wearing a safety helmet.
Also injured in that accident was the motorcyclist, 18-year-old Julian Graham, also of Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden.

The car involved in the hit-and-run accident

Based on reports received, the accident occurred at about 2:05h and involved a motor car bearing registration number PGG 764 and the motorcycle, CK 7806, on which Graham and Nelson were travelling.
Police stated that based on preliminary investigations, the motor car and motorcycle were heading in the same direction when the car collided with the motorcycle. The car reportedly drove off the scene.
As a result of the impact, the motorcyclist and the pillion rider fell onto the road where they received injuries about their bodies.
The two men were picked up and taken to the Linden Hospital where Nelson succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention. On the other hand, Graham was treated and admitted for observation. His condition is regarded as stable.

Meanwhile, the motor car was later found abandoned at Toucan Drive Access Road in Amelia’s Ward, Linden. The Police are investigating the fatal hit-and-run.
