Plans afoot for Guyana Cup Softball 7

Officials of the Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) recently meet Director of Sport Christopher Jones to begin the discussions on the hosting of the Seventh Edition of the annual International Softball Tournament “Guyana Softball Cup 7”.

Nine teams from New York, Florida and Canada have already entered the tournament. With the many local teams expected to play , GFSCA will find it very challenging to choose teams to play and complete the tournament within the three days. The Director of Sport was also briefed on other GFSCA activities . GFSCA has of recent made an all-weather cricket practice facility at the DCC Ground in Lance Gibbs St., Queenstown.
GFSCA is currently in collaboration with DCC for the hosting of a nationwide hardball under-13 tournament, sponsored by Well Teen, Trophy Stall, Tropical Spring Waters and Nauth Motor Spares.
During 2017 GFSCA has taken part in Softball tournament held in Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, New York and Canada. They were champions in the Masters in Orlando and New York, and will be the defending champions at “Guyana Softball Cup 7”. Speed Boat is the defending champion in the Open Category.
